LES BLEUS DE L’AME. Le fado est un art populaire; il jouit d’une belle vitalité. Lyrique, il se nourrit de nostalgie, d’amours déçues ou impossibles. C’est un chant pour apprivoiser l’âme. Il requiert intériorité et gravité, une tension de l’esprit et de la voix. Ana et Antonio, deux voix. L’une, vingt-neuf ans, native du centre du pays, l’autre, trente trois ans, originaire du sud. Tous deux auteurs de trois disques, déjà, jouissant d’une certaine notoriété au Portugal et au-delà et teintant, à l’occasion, leur fado d’influences musicales variées. Bruises on the soul The fado is a popular art form and enjoys true vitality. A lyrical art, it feeds on nostalgia, on unrequited or impossible love. It is sung to tame the soul, and requires inner scrutiny and gravity, tension between voice and spirit. Two voices: Ana, twenty-nine, is from the centre of the country, and Antonio, thirty-three, is from the south. They have produced three records and are already quite famous in Portugal and abroad. They occasionally colour their fado with varied musical influences. They each have their own style and sensitivity, but they share a common universe.
