Une soirée une fois de plus placée sous le signe de la découverte, donc de l’inouï pour le vingtième concert du Kronos Quartet au Théâtre de la Ville. Au programme, des pièces commandées à de jeunes compositeurs: String Quartet n°4, A Cradle Song de la Polonaise Hannah Kulenty, ... hold me, neighbor, in the storm, une œuvre de la Yougoslave Aleksandra Vrebalo. Et Rangin Kaman (The Rainbow), une pièce récente d’Homayoun Sakhi, que la quatuor américain interprétera avec le musicien afghan virtuose du rubâb, venu 4 fois au TDV. Kronos Quartet’s twentieth concert at the Théâtre de la Ville will be yet another evening dedicated to the discovery of hitherto unheard music. The programme offers works commissioned from young composers: String Quartet n°4 “A Cradle Song”, by Hanna Kulenty of Poland, followed by … hold me, neighbor, in the storm…,by Aleksandra Vrebalov of Serbia. And finally Rangin Kaman (The Rainbow), a recent piece by Homayoun Sakhi, the Afghan rubâb virtuoso, who has already performed four times at the Théâtre de la Ville in the “Music from the World” series.
