Si nombre de jeunes violonistes cherchent à se faire remarquer par leur virtuosité, Veronika Eberle ne l’entend pas ainsi. C’est dans le grand répertoire qu’elle trouve la substance pour exprimer la noblesse de son inspiration et l’équilibre de son jeu. Avec l’ultime sonate de Beethoven, dans laquelle le compositeur renonça à tout élan épique pour trouver la sérénité, puis le Rondo Brillant de Schubert, dont l’exubérance fut inspirée par un jeune virtuose bohémien, et enfin l’une des rares pages de musique de chambre de Richard Strauss, véritable tournant dans l’histoire de son œuvre, la jeune Allemande et son partenaire suisse nous feront partager l’intimité des grands duos, ceux qui vous transportent bien au-delà des notes. Many young violinists rely on their virtuoso technique to capture their audience. Not so with Veronika Eberle. The grand repertoire provides her with the substance she needs to express her lofty inspiration and beautifully balanced musical interpretation. She chose Beethoven’s last sonata, in which the composer renounced any epic temptation and found serenity, then Schubert’s Brilliant Rondo, whose exuberant mood was inspired by a young Bohemian violinist, and finally one of the very few chamber music pieces by Richard Strauss, a piece which was to be a landmark in the history of his work. With such choices, the young German musician and her Swiss partner on the piano will invite us to share the intimacy of the great duets, those which can take us on a voyage far beyond the notes.
