Sébastien Davis is determined to change things in this blazing oratorio with Ludivine Sagnier providing her physical and vocal presence for Vanessa Springora’s explosive tale. To musical accompaniment by Pierre Belleville with live electronics, the actor explores the disturbing experience of a young teenage girl looking for affection, only to be drawn into the trap of a famous author and his fantasies. Going beyond the relationship of victim and tormentor, she look at the family and friends and their lack of concern; she looks at the interpretation of the law that changes depending on the person, whether they are in a position of power or weakness. Like a tightrope walker balancing on a highwire, we are gripped by the performance, caught in the emotion, as she has us facing the facts head on.
