Sanam Marvi, whose name evokes love and passion, embodies the spiritual heritage of the sufis, that mystic path of Islam which finds its expression through music and poetry. Born in the province of of Sindh (Pakistan), Sanam has been immersed in this tradition since childhood, and was taught poetry and singing by her father. Having sung kadis (traditional melodies) since she was a child, she still considers herself as an eternal student, in constant search for perfection. For her, words and Sama (spiritual listening) are essential and nourish the sacred texts she performs with deep devotion. Socially conscious, Sanam Marvi uses her art to send a message of peace and tolerance, sharing her sacred music throughout the world. Her work, infused with spirituality, offers a transcendent experience, connecting audiences to the very essence of Sufi mysticism.
