Yitzhak Rabin : Chronicle of an Assassination
Amos Gitai
FOUR VOICES COMBINED IN A RECITATIVE MODE RETRACE THE COURSE OF HISTORY AND THE UNPRECEDENTED VIOLENCE WITH WHICH THE NATIONALIST FORCES OPPOSED THE PEACE PROJECT BY TEARING THE COUNTRY APART.
Yitzhak Rabin: Chronicle of an Assassination records the day - November 4, 1995 - when a young religious right-wing Jew killed Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. In the centre, Amos Gitai gives the testimony, moment by moment, of his widow, Leah Rabin, a woman without hate. Around her, with her, a mosaic of images-documents, languages, music-weave together the story of that fatal day for peace in Israel and in the world. In this great theatre of shadows, if the dead do not rise, the living do so for them. This is why Amos Gitai, filmmaker and architect of memory, tirelessly brings back to life this wide-ranging, anxious cantata that questions the facts - the deadly rise of nationalism - which some would like to erase.

Le Figaro
A profound ceremony to remember. (...) It is beautiful and relevant. The account of Yitzhak Rabin's last hours is poignant.
M La scène
A hymn to peace, Amos Gitai's show rises like an intimate and powerful oratorio, in favour of song and speech.
