Camané invite Agnès Jaoui
Camané, Agnès Jaoui • PARIS-LISBON
Opening concert
Camané fell in love with fado when he was 8 years old while he was “exploring a trunk full of old LPs”. After learning how to sing it in the most demanding traditional schools, he became one of the fado’s “princes”. In his last album, “Camané sings Marceneiro”, the poet pays tribute to one of the greatest fado singers. For Chantiers d’Europe Camané invites a woman’s voice, Agnès Jaoui’s one. Between theatre and cinema, her carrier’s punctuated by numerous prizes but she never gave up singing, one of her passions since she was 15. Agnès Jaoui early abandoned herself to Latin rythmes and melodies. Son, bolero, bossa nova, fado... Agnès Jaoui knows the dril! Her albums “Canta” and “Dans mon pays” abound with Latin sonorities and conceal several songs in Spanish and Portuguese. A musical meeting in a fado mood, not to be missed ...
