A STAR OF THE FORTEPIANO
MOZART
Sonata in B-flat major, K. 570
Sonata in F major, K. 533
Rondo en A minor, K. 511
Sonata en C minor, K. 457
Born in South Africa, the charismatic fortepiano player Kristian Bezuidenhout—who is also a recognized harpsichordist and modern pianist—distinguished himself at the age of twenty-one by winning the first prize and the audience prize at the Musica Antiqua Bruges International Competition. Critics have warmly praised his recordings for Harmonia Mundi, in particular, the complete works for solo keyboard by Mozart. A journey at the heart of Mozart's pieces, this recital brings together three magnificent sonatas—between light and shadow—which are among the last of his production, as well as the touching Rondo in A minor whose poignant sound at certain moments resonates in us like an intimate revelation.
