The inseparable movements of the two women range from sensual demand to political utopia. Are they showing a new way to gain an understanding of what a community is?
Tatiana Julien, in her solo work Soulèvement, devoted her energy to questions on our joint ability to devise a different idea of democracy. Today, she has worked with Anna Gaïotti, choreographer, writer and explorer of the realms of the night and the female body, in an intimate and intense duo which sees questions for society set in the context of the greater female community. They have chosen a circular arena, surrounded by the audience, where they bring their flames together, demystifying the body, the body shape of half the human race, releasing it from stereotypes imposed. While doing so, strange chants emanate from their close understanding, so close they could almost be Siamese twins.
