Over the past two thousand years, no fewer than sixteen different styles of regional music have developed in Georgia. The group Chveneburebi, with members from different parts of the country, will perform traditional music and dance, embracing customs and singing styles specific to each of their regions. The tradition of a cappella singing makes it a communal venture as practiced for different occasions. There is singing at work or when traveling, there are drinking songs or love songs, songs to celebrate a birth, death or wedding, with lyrics leaving time for a toast to peace, the homeland, a long life, love and friendship
