Da Kali, a trio of griots from Mali, has a unique format with voice, balafon and ngoni, following a tradition dating back to the 12th century and the Empire of Mali, and descending from the main lines of djelis (griots). Today they are bringing new life to the grand Mandingo musical tra¬dition.

Their outstanding creativity adds brilliance to the classical approach, as shown in their album Ladilikan, done jointly with the celebrated Kronos Quartet, for a moment of ultimate grace when classical strings highlight and shift the slow rhythm of songs from generations long past.
