A twelve-year-old girl leaves home, turning her back on her family, but taking her favorite book, Totoche. She soon discovers what it means to be lonely, and is caught in a tangle of emotions. But a mysterious character then turns up and offers to read with her, reading with a difference for this tale of learning. The performance with two actors and video images presents the free and generous world of one of the most widely read authors of children’s books. Julien Fišera, with his theater company Espace commun, has invented a new way of addressing contemporary writing, a new relationship with the audience, choosing to focus on children.
