Bach

The brilliant harpsichordist and organist Benjamin Alard who has often been invited to perform at the Théâtre de la Ville is continuing his recording of Bach’s complete keyboard works, a total of 18 volumes that he should conclude by 2028. The same extraordinary repertoire is also his choice for the stage, with harpsichord for the Italian Concerto, a blend of German-style architecture and translucent Italian melody, and two Partitas. These dance suites composed c. 1725 are striking and contrasting, providing Benjamin Alard with an opportunity to conjure up all the subtle features of his palette. A true event!
