A DRAMATIC AND DIVERTING VIEW OF ENGLAND TO GRASP ITS SOUL AND ALSO THE IRONY.
Excitement, ebullience and community spirit prevail as From England with Love offers a fresh and honest look at the country adopted by the choreographer and the young dancers of Shechter II selected from some of the finest in the world. The music is an ever so British medley to accompany them as they teasingly point out paradoxes in a generous country that clings to traditions such as school uniforms complete with ties. But ties can come to symbolize freedom, liberating the senses and releasing energy that distinguishes the Hofesh Shechter Company. The work is explosive, expressing sensuality and despair, far from a postcard impression. Shirts are removed, rebellion is brewing, and Hofesh Shechter declares his love for British society while shaking it up in his incomparable signature style.
