LES BALLETS DE MONTE-CARLO JEAN-CHRISTOPHE MAILLOT, SHARON EYAL
Vers un pays sage / Autodance
A CELEBRATION OF THE ENERGY OF A BODY IN MOVEMENT, THE ESSENCE OF TWO MAJOR WORKS, ONE RADIANT, THE OTHER AT FEVER PITCH.
Thirty years ago Jean-Christophe Maillot put his name to the most symbolic of works set to the incandescent beat of music by John Adams. Abstract elements and vital energy form an ode to life that is still as irresistibly enthralling. Over three decades, the deluge of color and beat has been delighting audiences of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and has been passed on to other leading troupes. The company has now opened up its repertoire, as if for exchanging experiences, to include Sharon Eyal in the repertoire, presenting a work from the repertoire performed from Gothenburg to Munich, and now in Monaco. With Sharon Eyal, the sunny side of the slope
