A DUO RANGING BETWEEN DANCE AND MUSIC BY AN EXTRAORDINARY ARTIST CASTING A NEW LIGHT ON MEDIEVAL CHANSON DE GESTE, ON THE REALMS OF MYTHOLOGY AND TRADITIONAL CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS.

Mathilde Rance has been dancing ever since she was a child, and in classes with people from every age group, some of them living with disability. She adopted the same open approach for her musical training, upholding a plural vision of the arts being designed for everyone. Her studies at the Conservatoire in three distinct specialized areas (contemporary dance, harp, and traditional Iranian percussion instruments) saw her develop her virtuoso skills as a one-woman band. She is a gifted inventor, and at ease whether playing pots and pans worn as a costume or strange instruments used in unorthodox ways. The work Épopées Imaginaires [Imaginary Epics] is somewhere between mythology and oral tradition, offering a diverting and musical rendition of subjects related to the war-mongering vanity of men.
