A somewhat dilapidated house has provided shelter for three characters who are in mourning, hard done by and lonely. Random chance has brought them together: the writer, anthropologist and musician who will endeavor to heal their metaphysical pain, and will jointly produce a guide on how to survive in a hostile environment. They talk, agree then disagree, moving perilously close to the precipice above empty space, ranging through excitement, doubt and dreams. Ludovic Lagarde wanders freely through the pages of Olivier Cadiot’s novel “Médecine générale”, a fun text, exhilarating, subtly political and overflowing with ideas. Together with his three outstanding actors they develop a drama-fable built on invented rituals, sometimes with dark humor, perhaps for the purpose of self-healing, recovery, rebuilding, and ultimately, to start all over again from scratch.
