SPOTLIGHT ON BACH
BACH Partita no. 4, in D major, BWV 828; Partita no. 6, in E minor, BWV 830
11am / running 01:30
At the height of a brilliant career as a clavichordist and organist, Benjamin Alard has taken on a highly ambitious project: recording the first complete keyboard works of Johann Sebastian Bach for Harmonia Mundi. The first volume, released in 2018, was awarded a Choc Classica. So, hurry up and come listen to this peerless musician – a regular guest at the Théâtre de la Ville – who is devoting this recital to the innovative Partitas nos. 4 and 6 by Johann Sebastian Bach. These two very different suites are in the first part of the Clavier Übung, a collection of six Partitas published in 1731. Inspired by his research and his intensive practice of the clavichord, Benjamin Alard will give us an interpretation that promises to be breathtaking.

Prepare to discover Bach’s concert music in a new light.
Gli Incogniti, the baroque ensemble founded in 2006 by Amandine Beyer, profoundly renews the interpretation of these timeless works through a constant search for authenticity. Their take on the stylistically different concertos for violin and strings BWV 1041 and 1042 were released on a critically acclaimed record by Zig-Zag Territoires. This will certainly be a memorable afternoon with Gli Incogniti and this prodigious violinist who will play the solo violin while conducting the ensemble.
