A DAY WITH LOUIS XV
What if for one hour we found ourselves in the heart of the 18th century, in the shoes of Louis XV in his lair of Versailles? A regular guest at the Théâtre de la Ville, the celebrated French harpsichordist Céline Frisch – a cofounder of the Café Zimmermann ensemble – has prepared us a journey back in time in which her remarkable plucked-string instrument evokes an ordinary day at court in the presence of Louis XV, successor to the Sun King. These singular pieces offer a representative range of the major moments of the French harpsichord school.
