Raised from a young age on Judeo-Spanish songs and rebetika, Dafné Kritharas finds her inspiration at the crossroads of East and West. She travels through the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey with the guitarist and songwriter Paul Barreyre and the pianist and composer Camille El Bacha, educated at the CNSMDP, and performs Judeo-Spanish and Greek songs from her first album Djoyas De Mar (2018) and a new album planned for 2020. On this occasion, she will perform new interpretations of Marrano songs from the Portuguese tradition collected in the regions of Trás-Os-Montes and Beira Baixa, giving her audience a glimpse of the sacred and secret character of these practices.
