In-house Gorki Theatre director, Yael Ronen was born in 1976 in Jerusalem in a theatre family (her father is director and her mother actress, both of them are from Israel). The encounter between Israel and Palestinian actors, the aftermath of the Former Yugoslavia conflict, the new Middle East in Berlin and the struggle of the Roma people in Europe have been the subjects of her recent successful pieces in Germany.
