“We go round and round in the night and are consumed by fire.” The Latin palindrome of the title of the quartet could be compared to a distorting mirror reflecting the vanity of our lives. Two women and two men have to keep pace with a sound loop that hammers out the beat. Dressed in black, they run, wander, fight, die, and revive, indefatigable, while images projected create a chiaroscuro of great precision. These absurd heroes of the human condition, these phantom figures appear and disappear, caught between tragedy and burlesque, alluding to founding myths and modern versions of them, as for example with Albert Camus and Samuel Beckett.
