THE FIRST YEAR IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IS JUST AWFUL! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT.
The bell has just rung, and it’s the end of the school year. Time for a vacation and soon we’ll be off to Brittany for fun at the seaside. Everything should be fine, but the main character in J’ai trop peur [I’m scared] has only just finished primary school, so there’s a cloud looming on the dream horizon. It is the prospect of starting junior high school in September that is the real worry, and it turns his vacation into a countdown, dreading that first year at high school which, so he has heard, is just awful.
