This is a theatre resolutely steeped in the fieriest questions of contemporary reality, but full of ingenuity and imagination. each in their own way, the duos of Silke Huysmans and Hannes Dereere and Laida Azkona Goñi and Txalo Toloza-Fernández dream up sophisticated documentary performances based on field studies. see them shine in pleasant island, in which silke Huysmans and Hannes Dereere use eye-witness accounts to describe the ravages of the mining industry, and in the pacifico trilogy, in which Laida Azkona Goñi and Txalo Toloza-Fernández focus on three troubled regions in south america: the Atacama desert in Chile in Extraños Mares Arden, Patagonia in Tierras del sud and Amazonia in Teatro Amazonas.
